About
The Kingston Blues Society (KBS), formed in 2006, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of local, national and international blues artists.
Twenty years later, KBS continues to bring the BEST IN BLUES to the Greater Kingston Community.
KBS is a nonprofit organization that is celebrating our 20th anniversary this year. We started out presenting our shows in a variety of halls around the city. Those shows included some of the biggest names in Blues including Johnny Winter, Big Bill Morganfield (son of Muddy Waters), Coco Montoya, Lee Oskar (the band War) Bryan Lee. Currently we use the RCHA Club which has also hosted some big-name artists including John Primer, Daddy Mack (Rolling Stones favorite), Studebaker John,Ike Stubblefield (Motown). We have also hosted blues bands at the RCHA Club from the USA, Germany, Denmark, Scotland, Ireland, and Australia. We have hosted many Canadian blues bands from across the country including many Juno and Maple Blues awarding winning bands.
We also try to support and present local blues artists whenever possible.
For the past 2 years KBS has presented a Tribute to the Limestone Blues Festival Weekend. The mini festival is our tribute to the excellent Limestone Blues Festival which was presented by Kingston Downtown BIA. Like the Limestone Festival it takes place in August over 3 days and features many local, national and international artists.
